The short version

Gastos stores all your expense data locally on your iPhone. We don't have servers that store your financial data. We can't see your expenses, and we don't want to.

What data stays on your device

• All expense entries (amounts, merchants, descriptions, tags, dates)
• Receipt photos and voice recordings
• Travel mode settings and trip data
• Search history and preferences
• Analytics and insights

This data is stored using Apple's SwiftData framework and never transmitted to any server.

What we process on-device

Gastos uses Apple Intelligence features (OCR, speech recognition, semantic search) that run entirely on your device. No data is sent to Gastos servers or third-party AI services for processing.

Exchange rates

Travel Mode fetches exchange rates from a public API. Only the currency pair is sent (e.g., "PHP to USD") — no expense data. Rates are cached locally for offline use.

Waitlist

If you sign up for our waitlist, we store your email address to notify you when Gastos launches. We don't share your email with third parties or send marketing emails beyond launch updates.

Analytics and tracking

The Gastos app contains no analytics SDKs, no tracking pixels, and no telemetry. We don't know how you use the app, how often you open it, or what you spend money on.
